The 364-Day Bible Reference Calendar-Consistent with Scripture
*FREE-Click below to view and print the Basic Version of the 364-Day Calendar.
This 364-Day Calendar shows the months and days at Creation and the 6 month change with the start of the Exodus. This Bible Timeline Calendar assumes a 364-Day year in Scripture. The Hebrew Calendar day starts at 6:00 PM. When it is 6:00 PM in Israel, it is 3:00 AM on the International Date Line. The last 6 hours of Sunday on a solar calendar are the first 6 hours of Monday on a Hebrew Calendar. The Days of Creation Week from Sunday-to-Sunday plus the 356 days of the Hebrew Calendar make up the Bible Reference Calendar (BR) with a total of 364 days. The dates and days of the week of this (BR) Calendar are the same day of the week every year. This is the most likely explanation for the fact that the Sunday though Saturday days of the week are never mentioned anywhere in Scripture. When the numerical day of the month and the name or number of the month is given, it is assumed that the reader knows what day of the week it is simply by having this basic information.
When the calendar is moved back six months, as stated in Exodus 12:1-3, Nisan 10 becomes the starting day of the first month and is a Friday. When Noah takes the covering off the Ark "in the first month, the first day of the month" (Genesis 8:13), the ancient Jewish reader would know automatically that this first day on the calendar at the time of this event would be a Friday. The reader would know this because Leviticus 23:32 is very clear that Tishri 9 is a Sabbath when Tishri is the seventh month after the Exodus. Using this same logic, the Day of Atonement, that always falls on Tishri 10, would always be a Sunday using the Old Testament calendar consistent with Scripture according to Leviticus 23:27.
This 364-Day Calendar is obviously not a solar calendar since the days of the week on the same date are unchanged every year. It is also clear, from this research, that the currently used Hebrew Secular Calendar (HS) is not the calendar consistent with the Biblical text. The 364-Day calendar, used in this research, is the "engine" that digitally spawns the Gregorian Calendar used by most of the world today. The dates and days of the week on this (BR) Calendar are printed in black ink. The (BR) Calendar appears to be consistent with the months and dates given in Scripture and does not have a leap year.
All dates on this Timeline use this 364-Day (BR) Calendar for calculations and dating of events. The corresponding Gregorian-Hebrew Calendar (GH) dates are printed in red ink and have an average of 365.2426875 days in a year with a Leap Year Day every 4 years. The Gregorian Calendar has Special Leap Years in which 1 day is taken off to correct the mathematical errors of the solar Julian Calendar that was first used in 46 BC. The year of Creation, 4101 BC on the Gregorian Calendar, is an example of a Special Leap Year with 365 days that is used every 100 years since Creation except when the year ends on a Sunday. The Julian Calendar has 365.25 days in a year with a Leap Year Day every 4 years. This 364-Day Bible Reference Calendar (BR) has many common characteristics found in a 364-Day Calendar described in the Ancient Hebrew texts known as The Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees.
The Bible Reference Calendar (BR) and the Gregorian-Hebrew Calendar (GH) start on the same day but are 14 years and 7 days apart. The Year is 4101 BC on the (GH) Calendar and 4115 BC on the Bible Reference Calendar (BR). All (GH) dates are the same day of the week as the BR dates and represent the same dated event. At the time of the Birth of Jesus in 5 BC, the years on the 2 Calendars are the same year plus 14 days apart with 14 more years on the (BR) Calendar. In the year 2057 AD (GH), the (BR) and the (GH) Calendar will be 7 years plus an "extra week" apart. In 2010 AD (GH), the 2 calendars are separated by 7 years and 58 days. There are 21 more years on the 364-Day (BR) Calendar from Creation to the Present year of 2010 AD (GH).
Overview of Calendar and Timeline
Data and dates for this Bible Timeline were calculated by Jim Liles using only Scripture in the MacArthur Study Bible. Most of the dates used in this Bible Timeline, until The Exodus, are based on information found in the Old Testament Book of Genesis. The year of 1445 BC, the year of the Exodus (See Chart on Page 3 of the Study Bible), was used as the Anchor Year for the entire Bible Timeline and other Charts. Using the years and months given in the Bible, almost every major event can accurately be dated backwards from the Exodus to Creation. Most of the events, from the Exodus to Daniel's "70 Weeks Prophecy," can also be accurately calculated. Many of the events in the Life of Jesus can also be known and connected to our own Gregorian Calendar that is used by most of the world today. The dates found in this Bible Timeline are consistent with many known dates in secular history and are consistent with Scripture. The dates given in this Timeline are not consistent with some dates using sources outside the pages of Scripture. James Ussher’s, The Annals of the World, and other resources were consulted for methodology only. Only dates and years given in Scripture are used to calculate the dated events of the New and Old Testaments with the 364-Day Bible Reference Calendar (BR). This 364-Day calendar and the Timeline Poster are on file with the Library of Congress United States Copyright Office.
